Look no further than Cobram Barooga Golf Club! Our stunning 36-hole complex boasts two world-class courses: the famous Old Course and the newer West Course.
Crafted between large stands of red gums and other native plants and trees, the Old Course has stood the test of time since it was first played in 1928 and extended to 18 holes in 1955. Although not long by modern standards, the narrow fairways with well-placed hazards have made it a favourite for visitors and locals alike. Golf Australia Magazine and The Golf Course Guide have both recognized the Old Course as one of the top 100 courses in Australia, and it’s easy to see why. The Old Course’s signature hole is the 333-meter 18th, which features a semi-blind tee shot that needs to be manoeuvred from right to left. The approach shot is to an elevated green protected by several large bunkers on all sides and is located in front of our new Golf Precinct for all to see.
The newer West Course is slightly longer than the Old Course and boasts wider fairways and larger greens with more slope. It’s home to an abundance of local flora and fauna, making it feel like you’re playing in a native sanctuary. Unlike the Old Course, the West Course has quite a few water hazards, with the 180-meter Par 3 16th hole being the most daunting. The water carry stretching the width of the fairway and caressing the right-hand side has caused many a golfer to fall victim over the years.
