Thaxted Park Golf Club has undergone some major changes over the past 18 months with the redevelopment of the front 9, the course has arguably the best greens in Adelaide and has produced over a dozen tour professionals over the last 20 years.
Officially opened in 1964, Thaxted Park Golf Club is located in the Southern suburb of Woodcroft, only 20 km from Adelaide’s CBD. The course layout takes advantage of the rolling hills, offering views to the sea with many of the tree-lined fairways interwoven with the creeks and dams which attract an abundance of wildlife.
Built by the foundation members, the course had only seen minor alterations up until 2015. Over the last 2 years the front nine has been redeveloped under the guidance of golf architects Crafter and Mogford.
With many holes that could be labelled as signature, our key hole is the 6th a par 5 where the green has been modelled on the iconic 17th Road hole at St Andrews.
Thaxted Park Golf Club offers a course that has a lay out comprising Santa Anna irrigated fairways and bent greens that are the envy of most clubs. With a natural layout that delivers holes in all directions of the compass, you will never feel like you are playing the same hole again.
